PRP Hair Restoration
PRE-TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS
To ensure the best results from your PRP Hair Restoration treatment, please follow these pre-treatment guidelines:
Avoid blood-thinning medications (like aspirin, ibuprofen, or certain supplements such as fish oil and vitamin E) for 7 days before the procedure, unless otherwise directed by your provider.
Avoid alcohol for at least 48 hours before your session, as it can increase the risk of bruising and swelling.
Do not dye or chemically treat your hair for at least 1 week before your treatment to avoid irritation.
Shampoo your hair and wash your scalp thoroughly on the day of your appointment, as the area must be clean and free from any oils, products, or buildup.
Do not apply hair products (such as gels, oils, or hairsprays) before your treatment.
Avoid sun exposure for 24-48 hours before your treatment to minimize the risk of skin irritation or pigmentation.
Stay hydrated—drink plenty of water leading up to your appointment, as proper hydration can support the healing process.
If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have active scalp infections, please inform your provider before undergoing the treatment.
POST-TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS
After your PRP Hair Restoration treatment, following proper aftercare is essential for the best results:
Avoid direct sun exposure to your scalp for at least 48 hours after the treatment. If you need to be outside, wear a hat or use broad-spectrum SPF 30+ or higher.
Do not wash your hair for 24 hours after your treatment. After that, use a gentle shampoo to avoid irritation.
Avoid hair products such as gels, hairsprays, or other styling products for 48 hours post-treatment to allow the PRP to fully penetrate the scalp.
Avoid physical activities that cause excessive sweating, such as intense workouts or saunas, for 48 hours after the treatment.
Do not massage or rub the scalp for 48 hours to avoid irritation and ensure the PRP is absorbed properly.
Mild swelling, redness, or tenderness at the injection site is normal and should subside within 24-48 hours.
Some mild bruising or scabbing may occur at the injection sites. This is normal and should heal within a few days.
Resume normal hair care routines after 48 hours, but avoid harsh or irritating treatments for 1-2 weeks.
Maintain hydration and a healthy diet, as good nutrition supports hair growth and healing.
Follow up with your provider for additional treatments if necessary. Typically, 3 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart are recommended for optimal results.
Note: PRP Hair Restoration uses your own platelet-rich plasma (PRP) to stimulate hair follicles, promote hair growth, and improve scalp health. Full results typically appear within 3-6 months after the procedure, as hair growth is a gradual process.
